My name is Christine Bohan Le and I am a freelance illustrator and animator based in K’jipuktuk/Halifax with over 9 years of experience in the industry.
I grew up in Brampton, Ontario in front of the glow of anime, cartoons, early internet, and video games. Living in a vast suburban landscape, I had a lot of time to spend in my own imagination, drawing, inventing my own games and creating stories.
Suburbia may have felt too safe and I eventually wanted some stakes. My first creative job was as a caricature artist at Canada's Wonderland, where I had 7-10 minutes to capture a stranger's likeness, entertain them and hope that my art doesn't make them cry (I definitely made 1-2 kids cry). However in that time, I got to hear countless stories of people's lives and connect in ways that I would never have as passing strangers. Despite the pressure, I loved the collaboration and the connection art created within the human experience. I ended up completing one year, Drawing and Painting at OCADU, and then fully completing a 4 year Bachelors of Animation from Sheridan College.
Early in my career, I worked at Wonderlust Studios in Halifax, Nova Scotia for 2 years, which paved way for my current role as an independent creative problem solver for a variety of clients and studios.

I am proficient in Toon Boom Harmony, Tv Paint, Photoshop, Illustrator and a bit of After Effects. Using these tools and the simple pen on paper, I have found myself directing, storyboarding, illustration, animating and even compositing on many projects, be it commercial, film, documentary, logo/branding design and games. Today, I am continually learning and taking classes to build on my visual and motion fundamentals. I am also currently familiarizing myself with Blender and Figma.
My side quests involves creating a maritime board game that I am working on with a friend, and maintaining a small-batch chili oil business called Thơm.
I've been incredibly lucky to work along side so many wonderful people from all parts of the world and to come out with friends along the way.
